As everyone in the financial world knows by now, venture capitalist Tim Draper is a big fan of Bitcoin. It’s not rare to see the man sporting a Bitcoin tie, and he frequently espouses upon his predictions for the future of Bitcoin. Recently, Draper has become even more bullish than normal. In fact, he may have even issued his boldest prediction yet. Although BTC now hovers around the $10,000 range, Draper claims that in three years, the cryptocurrency may be worth a whooping 25 times that. With the belief that global adoption will be upon us in a matter of months, Draper thinks that it is Bitcoin’s accessibility issues which are keeping it down. However, he sees bright skies ahead when it comes to his beloved crypto.
Perhaps it’s not a surprise that Draper forecasts inflation will be an issue. Pointing to the plethora of fiat currency issues faced around the globe — highlighting Argentina’s situaiton in particular — Draper has doubled down on his message that we need to bring Bitcoin to the masses. In a financial world that seems to be growing more volatile by the day, Draper believes that people will seek out decentralized solutions. Although perhaps not everyone in the world shares Draper’s extreme enthusiasm, it is difficult to argue with his optimism. After all, a mere three years ago, Bitcoin was priced at around $600. If a venture capitalist stated that it would skyrocket to $10,000 in 2019, perhaps not many people would have believed it — even the Bitcoin bulls. Draper’s estimation may be extremely optimistic, but it’s not out of line for what we’ve witnessed with the cryptocurrency in the past. In the coming weeks and months, it will be interesting to see if these massive predictions start to pan out and make more Bitcoin billionaires a reality.
