Earlier today we published about a new plugin launched by Coinbase which would allow online stores to accept cryptocurrency payments. Before this, Coinbase announced the acceptance of GBP for European customers and now, Coinbase has announced the listing of Ethereum classic. It seems like, the cryptocurrency market giant is on a run.

Earlier in June, EthereumWorldNews, a reliable Ethereum news source reported about the Coinbase engineering team beginning the work to integrate Ethereum Classic on the platform. Although, they didn’t mention the time frame by which the cryptocurrency would be listed.

Coinbase has finally posted on Twitter that Ethereum Classic is up for final testing and will be available on different Coinbase products by 7th August, 2018. This means that the technical team has successfully integrated the Ethereum fork, ETC on the platform.

According to the post on the Coinbase blog, Ethereum Classic will be made first available to Coinbase Prime and Coinbase Pro customers. The company plans to open up the Coinbase Market and the Prime and Pro customers can deposit ETC before 24-48 hours to begin trading. The Coinbase Consumer platform would however, support ETC after it’s available for the Prime and Pro customers and there’s sufficient liquidity available.

Also, Coinbase Prime and Pro consumers who were holding Ethereum before the fork and did not withdraw their funds after January 2017 will be getting a corresponding Ethereum Classic credit. On the other hand, Ethereum was listed on Coinbase Consumer after the fork, so the customers of Coinbase consumer won’t be getting any ETC credit.

The company has also made it clear that the Ethereum Fork, ETC will be available in all the geographies where Coinbase has its operations. This means, anyone who has a Coinbase account can buy ETC directly provided their country should be one of the supported Coinbase countries.
