As stated on the Coinbase Blog, the company will soon be supplying a brand new feature to allow cryptocurrency payments for retailers anywhere on the planet. It says, “We have been hard at work the last couple of months and are delighted to announce a WooCommerce plugin and also some other new features.”
For those who aren’t aware about WooCommerce, It is a WordPress plugin which allows people to start their own online stores. WordPress powers 30% of the websites on the Internet and Coinbase mentions that 28% of the online stores are powered by WooCommerce. With introduction to this plugin, a huge market has opened up for cryptocurrencies, Coinbase added.
CoinBase has posted the Coinbase Commerce Plugin on Github with the best steps to install it on WordPress. It’s estimated that the vast majority of online stores will allow crypto payments to boost overall adoption.
